Singaporeans Have Good Dental Habits. How about Indonesians?

Survey by The Nielsen Company July 2011, shows that 8 in 10 Singaporeans brush their teeth at least twice a day, and 70% visit the dentist a least once a year. Dentists volunteering for these checkups are from the Singapore Dental Association. They are supporting this event together with the Health Ministry (MOH), the Health Promotion Board and the Singapore Dental Health Foundation.
Their campaign focus on educating the public on how neglecting oral health can impact overall health. Such as gum disease has been shown in research studies to be linked to diabetes, heart disease and stroke. (http://www.straitstimes.com)

Indonesia also has campaign on oral health education this month, supported by Unilever together with The Indonesian Association of The Faculty of Dentistry (AFDOKGI). Survey by Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia 2007, shows that Indonesians DMFT index (Decay, Missing, Filled Teeth) is 4,85% and more than 70% Indonesians have cavity on their teeth. Well all teeth and mouth disease can be avoided with simple and easy ways by brushing and checking their teeth regularly.
